Don’t Let Life Control You – Life is 10% what appears to you and 90% how you react. The challenge for many people is that they don’t feel in control of their life. They wake up every day with the feeling and the mindset that they have to do the things. So they go through life angry and dissatisfied because they feel that they don’t have a choice to change it and improve the situation. So in this article, I wanted to share five strategies that you can use to gain a new perspective on your life and get it under control.

Number One Practice Poverty

This strategy is something that most people probably wouldn’t do. Because it might feel uncomfortable and stretch, but that is a point of the exercise. Now there are many ways how you can do it. But I will share my experience and have I’ve done it in the past and how it worked out. The purpose of this action is to start to appreciate things that you have. We usually don’t appreciate what we have because we’re always striving for the new things that we want to have.

We often feel out of control because we think that we don’t have anything. And we can’t change anything in our life. But this exercise will show you the things that you have and how to start to appreciate them. To start taking action in your life, here is how I practice poverty by myself. As I said before, there are many ways how you can do it. And if you want to do it differently, then go ahead and do it. So the way I did it was that once a week, I would sleep on the floor. And I would, of course, try to make it uncomfortable for myself to make it more effective. Firstly I never used the pillow; instead, I usually bundled up some of my clothes and slept on them.

Secondly, I tried not to use a do it, but instead, I would use a towel to cover myself. As a result, I would have a pretty uncomfortable night of sleep. Sometimes I couldn’t wait for the time to wake up, that’s how motivated I was. Another thing that happened was that the next day I would appreciate my bed. And how soft and comfortable it is to sleep in it. Also, I would appreciate my pillow, and I do it. These are the things that most of us have, but we don’t really appreciate them because we are used to them.

Number To Be Ready For The Worst And Accept It

Fear is an emotion that stops millions of people every day from living the lives that they want to live and achieving goals that they want to achieve. Most often, people are not stopped by failure but from the thought that they might fail if they try, and that is a fear at the play. People want to start their own business, but they don’t. Because they are worried that they will lose, and they’ll end up with nothing. And while it’s true that you might fail, you don’t lose everything. Because you’ll gain experience that will help you in the future.

Sometimes you simply have to make a phone call to your client. But because you think that the client will not be interested, you keep delaying it. The best tool or strategy that you can use is to be ready for the worst and accept it. That way, there is nothing that can go wrong. So if you have to make a phone call to the client, then accept that the worst thing that can happen is that the client will simply say no. So make the call, and no matter what the result is, you’ll be able to get on with the rest of your day and accomplish more things. Don’t let emotions like fear or doubt stop you from taking action. This might be the cause of why you don’t feel that you’re in control of your life.

Number Three Think Of Everything As A Choice

Life is one big mind game; if you think back, you can probably remember a time when you got upset. Because you thought that somebody said something bad about you. But then later it turned out that nothing like that happened and it was a general misunderstanding. That is a good example of how the problem was created in one’s mind even though, in reality, there were no problems. So by shifting our perspective, we can start to think about everything in our life as a choice. And therefore put ourselves in control.

Let’s say you got 10 emails in your inbox. You can think of them as something that you have to do, or you can think of them as you want to do them. At the end of the day, you probably will have to reply to all of them anyway. But why not to be in control and select three urgent ones and reply to them instantly. And leave the rest of them to deal with later. It is a little thing, little shift in your thinking and your approach. But it can make a huge difference and put you in control of your life. Don’t think of exercise as something that you have to do. Even if you push yourself to do it, that will not last for a long. You have to do it because you choose to do it. You can choose to do it because you want to be in great physical condition. Or maybe you want to run a marathon the next summer.

Number Four Go On A Trip By Yourself

Here is another great strategy that you can use to explore yourself deeper and understand what kind of person you are. For this exercise, you have to go on a solo trip for about a week. The destination is not important, you can go to a nearby city by car. But the rule is that you have to be on your own. You might be asking how is this exercise will put me in control of my life. Well, the thing is that eventually, it will help you to understand your deeper values. And once you know your values, you’ll be able to make better decisions that are in line with your personal values.

Once you’re out there, you have to know down things that you do. Places you go to see and where your mind is wandering. The reason why you have to go on your own is that you will not be influenced by the people around you. You if you’re going with your friends then you’re likely to pick different places to see. Just to make sure that their needs are met as well.

Number Five Do Something That Scares You

And the final strategy is to do something that scares you. Something that you usually wouldn’t be considering to do. If you feel that you’re not in control of your life for a long time, suddenly here be a good option for you. As you need to disrupt the situation you’re in right now. You might be out of control because you haven’t been taking action. If you want to control your life, it starts with you taking action and owning your life.
